NY, NY (August 2021) --New York rapper Serious Voice is officially back with a new single from her upcoming album called IMMACULATE. With a catchy hook and clever lyrics atop an uptempo hip hop beat, the award-winning rapper reminds fans why she has to stay in the rap game.
“I had to kick off my promotions with an uptempo song that truly reminds them that I’ve been around for a while,” says Serious Voice. “Folks need to be reminded that I’ve been in the trenches, been touring across the US and Canada and I’ve never stopped creating and collaborating with other creatives, even with Covid.”
Serious Voice teamed up with Fayetteville, North Carolina teen producer Prince Royale to give you this appetizer before the September 9th release of her album dubbed Beautiful.
“This song is just different. It’s a now-sounding song, comes with a vibe and tells you where I’m heading,” said Serious Voice. “This new track and upcoming album is starkly different from Shofar.”
This new project serves as a sophomore release for Serious Voice, who released her Shofar album in 2016 to much hype. She garnered a placement with Spike Lee's She's Gotta Have It for Netflix with a worship song called WOAH; toured for an entire year on the song called Anthem, a fan favorite, and showcased her skills as a hip hop, reggae artist, and worship singer.
"We have to celebrate us the same way Christ celebrated us. He didn't look at our flaws and indiscretions, men looked at that, the Pharisees and Sadducees. He looked at us as beautiful."
Serious Voice says her reasoning for the album title is a direct result of all the events that have happened in America over the course of the last two years. “I don’t want to start labeling myself as a social justice rapper but if that’s what it takes to touch the minds and hearts of men then that’s what I’ll do,” the two-time Kingdom Choice Award nominee added.
The first single, IMMACULATE, will be available on July 30th in all digital stories.
IMMACULATE is released under Serious PPL Music/ MooreBeats.
