Why do we fight? 

 

JAMES 4:1-3 

  1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?  2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

 

 The worst trap we can fall into is trying to justify our bitterness our hurt and our anger. We are to guard our hearts for out of it flows the issues of life. We can So easily get caught up in the sins of other people. People are going to talk about us. People are going to try to hurt us. People are going to try to stop us. What other people do gives us no justification to act out in the same way.

 

Matthew 24:12 

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”

 All Strife and contention come from a place of pride, we want to strive against people instead of allowing the Lord to fight our battles. We need to get out of the flesh and get back into the spirit where God wants us to be. Every time we get into the flesh the enemy cleans our clocks. The real question is this How seriously do you take the lordship of Jesus Christ over your life. We think Jesus is kidding when He gives us His commandments. The word Commandment by itself should show us the severity of ignoring the words of Christ. 

Commandment: A divine rule,

  Jesus warns us that if we don't Take heed to His words it's like building a house on the sand when the storm comes the house will fall and great is its destruction. Many people will face Jesus one day and call Him Lord to have Jesus respond " depart for me I never knew you". Matt 7:23 The only way we are truly going to heal is if we take heed to the words of Jesus stop striving, stop acting out in the flesh, check our attitude, forgive each other then we can be healed.
