On Saturday, September 27, 2025, Lorenzi Park came alive with hope, healing, and community during the Mental Health Matters event, hosted by the Mayor’s Faith Initiative.
The day featured heartfelt testimonies from Pastor Russ Smethers and Lamonte Faison, practical insights from mental health professionals, and encouragement from Judge Belinda Harris, who joined in the fun by dancing to the beats of Mr. His Hop.
Dr. Brenda Braa led the event with excellence, joined by MC Symmie SoReal, and supported by the Exchange Club, which served delicious food. The organization So Everyone Is Seen added a powerful touch, allowing participants to express their stories through art and live painting.
Together, we reminded our city that mental health matters, and healing is possible when we stand united.
