On December 20th, the 4th Annual Lit for the Lamb Christmas Event took place at the Cambridge Community Center, and it was truly a powerful day of love, unity, and community impact.
This year, we proudly partnered with the Metro Police Department, and the support from community leaders was overwhelming. The generosity was so great that it took three separate trips just to deliver all of the toys, bikes, and gifts to the center.
When we arrived to set up, another event was already happening at the community center, which turned into an unexpected blessing. We were able to meet new people, build fresh relationships, and make meaningful connections within the community.
Although we had access to two breakout rooms while sorting and organizing toys, the heart of Lit for the Lamb was always meant to be in the gymnasium. Once the toys were situated, I had to make a quick run to grab all the DJ equipment so we could be ready to turn up the joy for Christmas.
We were blessed with amazing volunteers, and my daughter went above and beyond—helping set up chairs so families could sit comfortably and enjoy the event. Once everything was in place, it was officially go time.
Officers from the Metro Police Department joined us on the court for a high-energy basketball game with youth, young adults, and adults from the community. The competition was real, the laughs were loud, and everyone played their hearts out—including our brother Dave Backer, who brought both hustle and joy to the game.
Following the game, we hosted a free-throw contest, which kept the excitement rolling. The night continued with a powerful performance from our guest artist, Zone 3, who delivered a Christ-centered message focused on lifting up Jesus.
Throughout it all, Mr. HisHop held it down on the DJ set, spinning uplifting music that kept the gym alive with energy, movement, and celebration.
We want to sincerely thank everyone who came out, volunteered, donated, partnered, and supported this event. It is truly an honor, blessing, and privilege to serve our community year after year.
