Reach Records co-founders Ben Washer and Lecrae just landed on Billboard’s prestigious 2026 Indie Power Players list. This is quite an accomplishment for the Atlanta-based label. The annual feature celebrates the most influential labels, distributors, and executives driving the independent music sector forward. It’s a space that currently commands over 44% of the U.S. recorded-music market share in early 2026.
When Ben Washer and Lecrae first started, the industry did not know what to do with them. Mainstream platforms frequently told the duo they were “too Christian for hip-hop,” while traditional religious spaces argued they were “too hip-hop for Christian music.” Rather than shifting their art to fit into boxes, they went to Atlanta and established a 100% independent home for CHH that now impacts millions of listeners worldwide.
“We love being indie. And they hate us putting them on the spot like this,” the Reach social media team posted.
