There's something special that happens when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

This past weekend, I had the honor of serving as the DJ for the Rise Up Christian Church Community & Voter Rally in Henderson. What started as a community event became a powerful reminder of what can happen when faith, civic engagement, local leadership, businesses, and residents all gather in one place.

I arrived early, around 9:30 a.m., and spent the entire day helping create the soundtrack for an event that was bigger than music. From the first vendor setting up to the final conversations at the end of the evening, there was a spirit of connection, unity, and hope throughout the entire event.

The Community & Voter Rally brought together community organizations, local officials, vendors, families, artists, and business leaders with a common goal: encouraging people to get involved, make their voices heard, and invest in the future of Henderson.

One of the highlights of the day for me was watching the Mayor of Henderson join in the fun and dance with members of the community. As I stood behind the turntables spinning records, it was incredible to see leaders and residents sharing the same space, laughing, connecting, and enjoying the moment together. Those are the kinds of experiences that strengthen a city.

The event featured great music, free food, raffles, community resources, local vendors, and meaningful conversations about civic participation. Community members had the opportunity to connect with organizations that are doing real work to improve lives throughout Southern Nevada.

I was also grateful for the opportunity to network with several organizations and community leaders. Events like these create opportunities not only for outreach but also for collaboration. I was able to introduce HisHop Nation Productions and share how our DJ, media, and promotional services can help other organizations create memorable experiences for their communities.

It was also exciting to see representatives promoting upcoming events, including the highly anticipated John P. Kee concert. Seeing organizations support one another and work together to serve the community is always encouraging.

A special thank you goes out to Brie, Joe, Ray, and my brother Dee for their leadership, hard work, and commitment to making the event a success. A huge shout-out as well to Agents of Change, Rise Up Christian Church, every vendor, volunteer, partner organization, elected official, and attendee who contributed to the day's success.

What stood out most wasn't the music, the food, or even the entertainment.

It was the people.

Different backgrounds. Different stories. Different experiences. Yet everyone came together for a few hours with a shared commitment to community. In today's world, that's something worth celebrating.

At HisHop Nation Productions, we believe music has the power to bring people together, open conversations, and build bridges. That's exactly what happened at this event.

We are grateful to have been part of it.

As we look ahead, we're excited about the many community events already on our calendar. We invite everyone to come out, connect with us, and be part of what we're building throughout Henderson and beyond.

Together, we can create spaces where people feel welcomed, valued, informed, and inspired.

The music may have stopped, but the momentum continues.

We'll see you at the next event.
