The second single to the upcoming Holy Culture Records Christmas album, A Holy Culture Christmas, Co Campbell and Omega Sparx team up to drop “Glory In The Highest.”
“Glory In The Highest” is what happens when the angels’ declaration over Bethlehem gets an invite to the family Christmas party. Omega Sparx and Co Campbell trade verses that move seamlessly from “get your mothers, your cousins, and bring everybody” to “come adore the King as the angels sing” — refusing to treat celebration and worship as two separate moods. The result is a song built for the electric slide and the altar call in the same three minutes, anchored by a soaring, singalong hook that turns “glory in the highest” into a party chant without losing an ounce of its reverence.
The song’s premise is simple and joyful: from Christmas to New Year, this is a season for jollity — yams on the table, jams in the speaker, family piling in from everywhere — but none of it happens without the King whose birthday it actually is. Verse one sets the scene with warmth and humor (mothers, cousins, everybody, the electric slide) before pulling the lens back to remind the room why they’re gathered at all: “Without Him, none of us would be here.” Verse two turns the celebration into direct address, speaking to Jesus himself — “it’s your birthday, and we gonna love you in the best way” — before calling the room to put their hands up and toast to the King. It’s a song that never lets the party and the praise compete; instead, it insists they were always meant to happen at the same table.
That’s exactly what makes “Glory In The Highest” culturally significant. It reclaims a deeply familiar touchstone — the Black family Christmas cookout, yams and cousins and all — as sacred space, collapsing the artificial distance between “church music” and “family music.” Omega Sparx and Co Campbell aren’t asking listeners to choose between festive and worshipful; they’re modeling a holiday spirit that’s neither stiff nor secularized, one where you can shout for joy and adore the King in the same verse. For a genre and season often split between overtly religious content and purely celebratory content, this record lives comfortably in both, making it a natural fit for gospel/worship playlists and Christmas-family playlists alike.
Produced by Marv4MoBeats and written by Gerrell Hoover (Omega Sparx) and Demaries Glaspie, “Glory In The Highest” carries an unmistakable party energy from its very first “aye, aye” — but never strays from its center. By the time the hook returns for the final run, “Glory in the highest, highest / Praise to the highest, highest” plays less like a chorus and more like a room full of family, cousins included, actually agreeing on something: He’s the reason for the whole gathering. It’s a joyful, communal, singalong record built for radio, for reunions, and for anyone looking for Christmas music that can hold both the party and the praise.
Lyrics:
[Intro]
Aye
Aye
Let’s have a party, aye, aye
Let’s have a party, aye, aye
Let’s have a party, aye, aye
[Chorus: Co Campbell]
Glory in the highest, highest
Praise to the highest, highest
Come adore the King as the angels sing
Glory in the highest, highest
Praise to the highest, highest
Come adore the King as the angels sing
[Verse 1: Co Campbell & Omega Sparx]
Christmas to New Year, let’s be jolly
Get your mothers, your cousins, and bring everybody
We got the yams, with fam while we’re bring the jams
But don’t forget about the King, He’s the great I Am
We’re gonna party, jump out the ride, electric slide
While angels rejoice in the sky, we magnify
Without Him, none of us would be here
So come celebrate with us, as we cheer
[Chorus: Co Campbell]
Glory in the highest, highest
Praise to the highest, highest
Come adore the King as the angels sing
Glory in the highest, highest
Praise to the highest, highest
Come adore the King as the angels sing
[Verse 2: Co Campbell & Omega Sparx]
Jesus, it’s your birthday
And we gonna love you in the best way
Can’t forget what you paid
Hear the angels crying out your name
So put your hands in your air
Rejoice with your loved ones, love is everywhere
So think about the King when you toast
He’s the flyest, chanting to the world singing glory in the highest
[Chorus: Co Campbell]
Glory in the highest, highest
Praise to the highest, highest
Come adore the King as the angels sing
Glory in the highest, highest
Praise to the highest, highest
Come adore the King as the angels sing
Glory in the highest, highest
Praise to the highest, highest
Come adore the King as the angels sing
Glory in the highest, highest
Praise to the highest, highest
Come adore the King as the angels sing
