“Run to You (Release Me)” by Saints in Exile continues the band’s progression into making whatever music they want. This track sonically draws inspiration from 80s/ early 90s electronic synth pop and punk. They twist the genre on its head when they add a hip-hop bridge. The chorus features their signature harmonic melodies while also adding a counter melody. Thematically, the lyrics show a person with nothing left to do but run toward God. They are at the bottom and ready to give in to what they’ve been hiding from. Now they “run” toward it.

Saints in Exile is a rap/rock band from Staten Island, NY, consisting of three friends and band leaders who were peers in local bands for nearly 20 years before joining forces. Their sound blends rock, hip-hop, pop, and emo influences, as they aren’t tied down to a single style. If they could think of it, they would do it.

The name comes from the displacement of God’s people in today’s society or the separation of good in favor of evil. The trio is quickly picking up steam as their happy-sounding sad songs are resonating with 10s of thousands of people online weekly.
