Recently, Christian animation has been taking off, and it’s so refreshing. This short film, Forevergreen, uses simple storytelling elements with biblical principles, all without using a single word (just some sounds). An orphaned bear cub finds a home with a fatherly evergreen tree, until his hunger for trash leads him to danger.

“Forevergreen” is an animated short film and after-hours passion project created entirely by a crew of over 200 dedicated Artists and Technicians who all generously donated their free time and talent to bring every frame of the film to life. The production took over five years to complete. It features never-before-seen animation techniques and handmade artistry, weaving art and technology together with heart and humor.

The soundtrack is by Josh Garrels and is inspired by John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down his life for his friend.”

Josh worked remotely with the directors via the Disney Animation Studios to compose the music. You may recognize this name from singing the song “Anchor” on the Satellite Kite by Beautiful Eulogy. My personal favorite was his album Home back in 2015. He had some tracks that hit you right in the spiritual gut.
