Jonah 2:8-9 “

Those who regard worthless idols Forsake their own Mercy. But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord .”

(An idol is anything that's  made more important than God. Our God is a jealous God, don't forsake Him for what's only temporary. Idols will not only distract us from God's purpose for our lives, it will give us disdain for His mercy.)
