1K Phew Interview: 1K Phew came through to Bless The Mic with his songs “SHAKE” and “HUH?” from his newest album. It was filmed in Atlanta, GA, in collaboration with ‪@Rapzilla.‬ Will Thomas shot it, and Faith Over Fear (faithoverfear.com) sponsored it. He also answered a few interview questions for us.  

Who is 1K Phew? 

1K Phew is Isaac Gordon from the east side of Atlanta. Gospel rap pioneer, child of the biggest, and the rest after. 

Tell me about the verses you performed on Bless the Mic.

I performed “SHAKE” off my latest project, Any Given Sunday, and I performed “HUH?” off my latest project, Any Given Sunday, and I’m super excited.

How do you approach rapping in this setting of a live mic and cameras? 

I try not to think too hard. I just try to be myself. That’s one of the main things I’m trying to really do for the remainder of just everything. Just be authentically what God called me to be, as far as not trying to put on too much, like really just be myself on camera. You know what I’m saying? And I’ve been doing it, but at first I used to think about it a little too much. Now, I’m just going to do it type thing.

What is one of your favorite freestyles or live performances that you’ve ever heard? 

I ain’t going to lie, man, my brother WHATUPRG got one of the hardest live shows. Just the creativity he puts into it, the stage presence, and of course the music. So I’ll definitely have to say RG for sure.

What’s the biggest thing you’re going to accomplish in 2026?

My biggest accomplishment of 2026 is opening up doors for others. Continuing to lead and lift my family, and being an example of people in the world who want to get it right, but just don’t have the instructions or the example to get it right. I just want to be a good example.
