Who is 350? 

South Texas kid. I’m a father, husband. First and foremost, just a man on a mission, bro. Got something to say to the people. Searching for solace is what it’s all about. Trying to get people pointed to peace. You know what I mean?  You know, that’s the whole mission of the game. 

Tell me about the verses you performed on Bless the Mic.

I just shot “Bring a Light.” That was my first single. It’s a collab album with me and 1995. It’s a dream to work with that guy, man. He was one of my favorite producers coming up. He was one of the first people that believed in me too. I have been following him since he was like 16. But “Bring a Light,” he debuted his rapping career on that song. It was just awesome to see him. He and I were trading advice as I started producing and he started rapping. So he gives me game; I give him a little game. Advice here and there. 

Then the second joint I did was, is off that same tape called “Who Knows?” That one is featuring DJ Mykael V, which you’ll hear at the end. But it’s kind of like bringing the world of Somewhere Along the Way and Bodega together. That’s why you’ll hear like both tags on “Who Knows,” but it’s just like a great way to like infuse each era in each world. 

How do you approach rapping in this setting of a live mic and cameras? 

I’ve always been the one to really find value in live performance because I think that’s the best way to connect with people. Like you lose a lot of money with live performances, but like that’s a huge investment into your fan base. So approaching that, I always try whenever I’m doing concerts, always rap my whole verses live, which if you see me live, that’s what I’m gonna do. I’m never gonna rap over my vocals, especially with hip-hop stuff. So when we do this, you’re already kind of prepared for that. When you go out to the mic, you’re ready for that, you know.

The only thing is I’ve never performed these specific songs, so it’s just remembering the lyrics, but once the beat starts going…I don’t know if you saw me – but once I had the first couple of lyrics, you just get it. It just starts flowing. I’ve found a lot of value in that, so I really think that’s important as a rapper, just about the art. I don’t like skill comparison and nothing like that. I just think having value in the art that is performance art, you know what I’m saying, and doing that well. That’s my whole thing with that. 

What is one of your favorite freestyles that you’ve ever heard? 

Oh, that’s crazy. I watch a lot of them coming up. I don’t always create a big freestyle. A big freestyle, I’m not sure if it was written, but the Shady 2.0 freestyle on BET. This is where I get a lot of my flow from: that Slaughterhouse Shady era. Crooked I hit that “all these rappers need to keep it chill/Give me the beat to kill/All of these people still sleeping on my ether skills.”

The way he bounces on the beat like his syllables are just crazy, bro, so I think that’s something that always stuck with me. I’m just a big fan of well-written verses too. So I think anytime I approach something like – that’s what I’m saying, I don’t think these are freestyles  – but I mean you can go with like Black Thought on Hot 97? Or bro, you can even go Desiigner. 

Those are some of the ones that just come to mind. I just like watching The Game and Mos Def in the park, you know what I’m saying? Like these are just classic ones. It’s just so effortless the way they do it. I feel like when I try and do something, it’s a little bit more like I have to calculate it. You just got to kind of channel your favorite Mos Def impression or Black Thought impression. 

What’s the biggest thing you’re going to accomplish in 2026? 

Well, seeing my son turn three. I think keeping my boy alive for three years is something. My wife and I just turned 10 years together. That was like yesterday, so that was something I just couldn’t believe looking back. It’s more of the things where it’s not like, “I accomplished so much,” but it’s like looking back at where we were at the time, living in like a border town with not much to my name, not much, and I think it’s not so much about the things that I have but where my mindset was at the time.

That my value was in the fact that I didn’t have things because I may not have a lot now, but I know that my value doesn’t lie in that. It’s just more so finding my contentment in my family because, yeah, I want to put out an album this year, I’m going to do this and that.

Me and HEAVENONEARTH are gonna do some crazy stuff next month, music-related and non-music-related. Like those are things that I can pick apart, but we had a Bible study yesterday also. The funny thing is that it’s not the things that we did that we’re excited about as HEAVENONEARTH. It’s the fact that we all see the Spirit moving in every one of us, and it’s crazy because people are having visions. People are having things change in their lives. Like I don’t know how to explain it. Rhomar Jessy was saying it’s so weird. Everything’s so weird right now, like in a great way, and I think that’s the most important thing.

I think mentally and spiritually, I’m in the best place I’ve ever been in my life, and I think that’s a big success I could say from the 22-year-old kid that wanted to just not be alive anymore to a 28-year-old kid that is just happy to be around and provide anything to anybody. I think that’s my biggest accomplishment this year. What comes is going to be great, and if it’s not, our value isn’t in that, but how can it not be?
