There are some events that become more than just another date on the calendar—they become part of the mission. This year marked our 4th consecutive year serving at the Summer League Prison Ministry at the Spring Mountain Youth Camp and Juvenile Detention Center here in Las Vegas, and it's always an honor to answer the call.
As President of His Hop Nation, I believe that every young person deserves to know that their past does not have to define their future. That's why we continue to show up with the same message year after year: Jesus Christ still changes lives.
This year's event brought together an incredible lineup of NBA chaplains, former and current professional basketball personnel, coaches, and ministry leaders who poured into these young men and women. Representatives from organizations connected to the Houston Rockets, LA Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Utah Jazz came together for one purpose—to bring hope.
Our role was simple but powerful.
As DJ, I had the privilege of setting the atmosphere through music as the students entered the gym. Music has a way of breaking down walls before a single word is spoken. Seeing smiles, hearing laughter, and watching the energy in the room build reminded me why we do what we do.
This year, our brother Repent also joined us and absolutely rocked the mic, bringing Christ-centered hip hop that connected with the youth in a real and authentic way. The combination of music, testimonies, games, and the Gospel created an environment where hearts were open to receive truth.
Throughout the morning, students heard powerful testimonies from NBA chaplains and former professional athletes who shared how God transformed their lives both on and off the court. They learned that success isn't measured by championships or contracts—but by having a relationship with Jesus Christ.
At His Hop Nation, we've always believed that Christian Hip Hop is more than entertainment—it's ministry. It's another tool God uses to reach people who may never step inside a church building.
We want to thank the Summer League Prison Ministry team for trusting us once again to serve alongside them. It's a blessing to use our gifts to point young people toward hope, purpose, and salvation.
We'll continue showing up wherever God opens the door.
Whether it's inside a juvenile detention center, a community event, a school, or a city block, our mission remains the same:
Reach the lost. Encourage the broken. Lift up the name of Jesus.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support His Hop Nation and our outreach efforts. Because of your prayers and support, we're able to keep serving our community year after year.
Until next time... Keep Christ First, Keep Hip Hop Holy, and remember... Hope is Never Out of Reach.
